A whale of a good time - Whale watching inPuerto Vallarta - Grupo Mayan
When the annual whale watching season moves into full swing in Puerto Vallarta, it brings with it thousands of Grupo Mayan guests from all areas of the world. These people flock to the water in hopes of viewing the massive marine creatures up close. There are many government regulations created in an effort to protect the mammals and these rules are strictly enforced by all countries concerned. Open Air Expeditions fully complies with all associated rules and regulations concerning the protection of the whales. They have the only United States Coast Guard certification whale watching ship in the Puerto Vallarta vicinity. If for some reason Grupo Mayan visitors consider the whales to be too large for their taste and would prefer something a bit smaller then do not fret as this organization can arrange for the Grupo Mayan guest to go on a dolphin expedition to view these playful and friendly animals.
People have experienced whale surveillance in numerous different countries and commend the Open Air Expeditions, as well as in a Whale Watching Center as one of the best conservation companies in existence. Grupo Mayan watchers rated number one as a cluster of marine scientist who know what they are doing and firmly believe in what is being done for the good of the whale.
Many Grupo Mayan fans of the ocean have made several trips from different countries to different areas merely to watch whales and when coming to this tour Grupo Mayan people have stated that it is positively the best they have taken. They readily state that they have watched whales from Marrietas, Yelapa and Caletas and the most outstanding place they have gone to view these creatures was through Open Air Expeditions tour.
A typical whale-watching trip would entail arrived in the early morning and meeting your guide after which he or she proceeds to provide you with a brief background on the whales. The Grupo Mayan guests then board the twenty-one foot Zodiac ship.
Leaving port you head to sea where soon you hear the captain indicate that he has sighted the first of the whales and shortly after you notice several more in the same vicinity. As the ship parallels the family of whales the captain proceeds to explain more about the whales even to the extent of providing you their given names as each whale has been named by the captains of the various tour ships. In addition to the captain plus the tour guide there may also be a researcher present on board the ship who is doing data studies for the benefitr of the whales. All three of the individuals appear very knowledgeable concerning these whales and their usual habits. Many of the ships have a hydrophone aboard which would enable Grupo Mayan guests to actually hear the sounds of the whale.
